I chose to make a hand icon to represent a sense of volunteerism. A simple hand raise can go a long way in terms of stepping up to help, or stepping up to just make a difference. Such an icon is very popular among political party and campaign sites/platforms to represent that same idea in order to draw in people to their cause.
