For this project Natalie & I were trying to keep in mind the most common products used in society today, from that we narrowed it down to a pen because there are many things we can do to advertise a pen. Earlier we considered advertising a phone, but there are too many examples already used by the actual phone companies today. We chose the design because it resembled something spectacular almost, a product we take for granted can have a lot of power when used in the right way. Something new we tried is using effects on stock images to accent the other objects in the image. We tried to use a light theme in order to contrast with the seriousness and large impact of the subject. In terms of things I would differently, I would have tried to incorporate more historical figures and/or objects in the advertisement.
